"HOW TO" ZINE

Students used their combined knowledge of typography, publication design, color theory, and Adobe InDesign functions to create a small zine. This zine topic was a “How To” book on a topic of the student's choosing.

TYPOGRAPHY

Students used their knowledge of typography and layout to create an 11x17in poster. They chose 3 verses or 75-80 words of any song (that was school appropriate).

BRANDING

Students used their combined knowledge of marketing, branding, color theory, and Adobe Illustrator functions to create a branding identity system for yourself. This system can be used for portfolios, business cards, businesses, websites, social media, resumes, and more.

COLOR THEORY

Graphic Design I students used the concepts that they learned in color theory to design a shoe (sneaker, heel, sandal, wedge, high top, athletic shoe…) in Adobe Illustrator with the pen tool and/or the brush tool. Graphic Design II students chose a color scheme to design a playing card from a classic deck in Adobe Illustrator. They randomly picked their cards suit and rank from a deck.
